Every review on this site uses the same seven-criterion scorecard, so a score of 8 means the same thing on every page. This page publishes the criteria, their weights, what separates an 8 from a 5, the scores we gave and what we could not verify.
What we check and what we do not
We compare services using only information anyone can reach without paying: published price and plan pages, feature and help pages, terms of service, privacy policies, public demos and dated third-party reports. We do not create accounts, pay for plans or enter personal data to review a service, so we describe our work as comparing and reviewing rather than testing with paid accounts.
When a fact appears only after signup, such as a price table inside an app, we use the figure reported by a dated independent review and label it reported. When we could not confirm something at all, we say so, and it lowers the score for price clarity or privacy rather than being guessed. Every service was last checked in September 2026.

Conversation and memory carry a quarter of the score because talking is what these services are for. Creation, media and price clarity follow at 15% each; free access, privacy and content rules at 10% each. The overall score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal.

These numbers are the same on the home page, the reviews hub and every full review. If a service changes a plan or a feature, we update the fact, rescore the affected criterion and change the date on every page at once.
Why these five services
This round covers the five services our readers asked about most: LoveScape, GoLove, CandyAI, JoyAI and CrushOnAI. Other names that often appear in rankings, including GirlfriendGPT, Nomi, OurDream AI, Secrets AI, DreamGF and Kupid AI, are not scored here yet, so their absence says nothing about their quality. Character.AI is left out on purpose: it is a general roleplay platform with strict content filters rather than a romantic companion service.
What we could not verify in September 2026
- GoLove's PRO price and Star costs, shown only inside the app; we use reported figures.
- JoyAI's and LoveScape's plan prices, shown only after signup; we use reported figures.
- CrushOnAI's plans and privacy tools, because its site blocked our automated checks.
- Any service's memory claims in practice; we report what each one states and suggest a simple test.
